Founders work in the company

Jan De Brabander and Kurt Supeene founded DB&S Machines in 1995. Due to a congenital brain injury, Kurt Supeene has become blind in the meantime. Kurt still works 2 days a week at DB&S Machines to everyone's satisfaction, and that of his guide dog Uno. Kurt was succeeded by Jan De Brabander's wife, Lucie Vanden Broucke, as co-manager. Together they make sure every day that everything runs smoothly, or at least as much as possible.

Strong focus on quality

“Quality always comes first” is Jan De Brabander's motto. At DB&S Machines, this is expressed in many more things than just the quality machines sold or our technical service offered. This includes the fleet of vehicles, suppliers, tools for the service engineers, even the requirements for potential new employees, and even the catering at DB&S Machines corporate events, such as our annual DB&S employee Day.

Family character of the company

Lucie and Jan are family people. The familial bond with their two daughters and their partners is their number one priority, but second certainly comes human contact in their day-to-day activities. Joviality with co-workers and a simple personal “good morning” is important. Every visitor in the showroom, prospect or customer, is offered a cup of coffee. A customer or prospective customer will receive a personal handshake, “welcome” to DB&S Machines.

Loyal to its suppliers

It is no coincidence that DB&S Machines has been cooperating with OTT from Austria for +25 years. They are top quality machines and OTT is a company that is top in terms of organization. But above all, it is also a family business, which has the same human values as DB&S Machines. To dance, however, you have to be two. Other suppliers were sometimes taken over, changed management or had other objectives that were further away from what DB&S Machines aims at. Working together as true partners, in mutual respect, with the same values, that is what DB&S Machines is committed to.

Professional and competent advice

At DB&S Machines we always start from the technically best solution. Depending on whether the offered solution fits into the customer's budget, this will of course be adjusted. Working out a project is a process that has to grow along the way and may lead to new insights. More than once we have advised customers to do a change in production flow instead of buying a new machine to solve their “bottleneck”.

Investment projects

Buying a machine is an investment, we at DB&S Machines are well aware of that. Immediately after the sale, we start the conversation with the customer about the maintenance of the machine. Here, too, it is important to enter into a partnership with the customer. What does the client expect and how can DB&S meet those expectations or what insights can we offer the client to optimize his machine/investment/project.

Long-term thinking is really inherent at DB&S Machines. Also with regard to our technical know-how. This automatically leads us to the knowledge of our employees. We have people who are starting to belong to the “furniture” so to speak. +26 years / +23 years / +19 years ... at DB&S Machines. We are grateful for this gratitude, but also grateful for the “young guys” who join our adventure after a rigorous screening and selection process.

Service engineers across the country

Our Service Engineers and Service Technicians are also recruited geographically. Organizationally, this was a challenge in the beginning, but has since become our own. Being on the road costs a lot of time and therefore a lot of money. Keeping this lost time to a minimum is the intent, as this creates a win-win-win situation. Less cost for the client-better time management for DB&S Machines-happier employee. (better work-life balance)

Every day we at DB&S Machines try to improve the “customer experience”. In concrete terms, this means that we continuously think about how we can do this, but where the flexibility of our service can be maintained.
